Self Care is Vital. Today of all days it seems recent events with Covid19 have started to hit home. Yesterday I was supposed to get some IV fluids to strengthen my immune system since I am in the at-risk category of having a compromised immune system. The good news was that I was not sick enough to get the treatment. Still, it would be nice to get those 3 hours back! With it being a little under a month we have all been dealing with Covid19 and at least another month to go, it is easy to feel even more weary.

I have a friend who is in the hospital with Covid-19, another friend whose traveling business has plummeted and even my dad whose birthday is today is not able to celebrate with his twin brother. Right now, self-care is increasingly important to maintain sanity and stay safe. Self Care is Vital.

Even when you have done everything right and are social distancing and your health is okay, still this “new normal” gets pretty old.

You may be stuck at home with your family, or a family member or possibly you are home alone. Stuck with the same routine? Create a new normal for yourself. One of my routines that has been disrupted is that my gym closed for the month of April. I wish I had thought of this solution earlier, but better late than never. I ordered a set of resistance bands from Amazon. It is not the same as going to the gym, but it is a great alternative and a cost-effective home gym for $50. Self Care is Vital.

As hard as it may be, the safest place to be is making an honest assessment of your present reality. If you are sad, by all means express that. If you are feeling a tad guilty because suddenly you do not have to go the office, enjoy the season.

This virus will not last forever but will stay longer than we would like. It is perfectly normal to have bouts of depression or anxiety. If those bouts are occurring on a regular basis, it may be time to ask for help.
